Hello! My name is Charmaine André. I was born and reared in Los Angeles, California. A Dutch boy stole my heart so I moved here in 1999.
Having a Dutch mother and a German father, I was exposed to languages at an early age. My sister and I had to go to German school on Saturdays when our friends could play or sleep in, so you can imagine that we never became fond of the German language.
I have a BSc degree in Hospitality Management and worked in the field for many years. I made a career switch in the Netherlands and have worked in education since 2001. I teach Remedial English to pupils at Marne College in Bolsward (the ones struggling in year 1) and I am a Language Assistant helping pupils in years 1-6 (vmbo/have/vwo). In addition, I am a CLIL coach (content language integrated learning) for the bilingual department. Aside Marne College, I tutor children/teenagers/adults helping them reach their goals, whether it be secondary school final exams, FCE/CAE/CPE tests, for business or for pleasure.
In my free time, I love travelling, working in the garden, jogging, cycling and spending time with family & friends.
