Hi there! I’m Elena from Italy. I grew up in the north-west of Italy, and I majored in Foreign Languages (English and German) at the University of Turin. In 2009 I decided to move to England, where I worked as a foreign language assistant in a high school.
Subsequently, I continued my studies at the University of Exeter, where I obtained a PhD in Translation Studies with a thesis focusing on the translation of North-American feminist texts into Italian. While studying I taught Italian language at the university and worked part time as translator and interpreter.
In 2015 I moved to the Netherlands, I obtained the CELTA certificate and started working as a teacher of English and Italian and as a translator. Since then I’ve been teaching a wide variety of courses (Business English, Technical English, Academic English…) to students of all levels and ages. I like teaching because I always learn a lot from my students!
In my free time I like reading novels, playing the piano, listening to jazz music, going to the cinema and baking cakes.
